Kona 30th Celebration

The Kona 30th B-day party was a two day event with a VIP party on Friday night. Adam Taylor & Pete Kelly were ripping up the Bowl and Vert Ramp with Adam blasting big airs over the Hooters Girls. Kona should be a protected landmark, there is so much history, the park reflects the past and represents the future of skateboarding never forgetting the roots. Martin Ramos and family putting on great party!
On Saturday the day started out with the Slalom Race down the Snake Run with East Coast Legend Kelly Lynn taking the win. The best trick went down on the legendary Tomb Stone, that obstacle has been there for 30 years out lasting all the phases of skateboarding from the down days to the early glory years. Benji Gallaway placing 1st on the Tombstone Best Trick. The crowds were huge and would not be turned away after two major thunder Storms. The crowd was there to celebrate, that is what skateboarding is all about, the people who buy the products and support the industry, this was there day as well. Tony Hawk showed up in time to watch the best trick, the kids were so stoked to see Tony, the crowd never left, they were there to see it all rain or shine.
