Copenhagen Denmark for the Pro

Hotel Fox, Bobby's Skate Shop to the Left.....

After a 11 hrs of flying we arrived in Copenhagen at 730am we are 6 hrs ahead of East Coast time..We exchanged our money it approximately 5.50 Kroner to a dollar, we took the train to t0 the Fox Hotel. Everyone is so friendly and helpful here. Very busy place, most everyone rides a bike, walks or uses public transport. The people are very interactive, everyone seems to be fit. A very active lifestyle. Hotel Fox is very Unique, each room is decorated by a Different artist,61 rooms, 21 artists, 1,000 ideas. Each room is an individual piece of art. From whacky comical styles to strict graphic design. From fantastic street art and Japanese Manga to simply spaced out fantasies. You will find flowers, fairytales, friendly monsters, dreaming creatures, secret vaults. Oh the continental breafest is so good and healthy, I guess you need that after a night on the town here, the people certainly know how to have a good time..The streets are full of life at night with so many night clubs

Jordan Price 1st Place Encinitas YMCA 13 & Under....

Big Fish....
Jordan’s in California for the whole summer and plans on hitting as many skateparks as possible. This weekend he entered the Mike McGill Classic at Encinitas Skatepark. It was a combo street and mini-ramp contest. Jordan was the only skater from Florida and was feeling the skatepark rivalry. It was an absolutely beautiful day and the park was packed with rippers. Jordan assembled his run and was landing most of his tricks after a few tries. First, it was the street contest and the kids were throwing down. There was a jam session and he made it to the finals. It was most likely Jordan’s flawless run in the finals which included an ally-oop cab that clinched a first place finish. Then it was off to the mini ramp. He threw down head high stalefish airs, forever tailslides, switch airs all over, a kickflip over the hip and a backside 360 over the hip that he couldn't’ even believe he landed. You could see the fun he was having through the entire run. It was another flawless run and launched him into first place again. Overall, it was an exciting day. The park kids warmed up and everyone was friends in the end. The contest was truly about skateboarding and represented fun for everyone including the parents. Thanks to the wonderful staff at Encinitas and Mike McGill for a great contest.

BIG RIGGIN BEST TRICK UPDATE..VIERA RIDE SHOP MAKING IT HAPPEN...

This was a man sized obstacle!!!!!!

You have to be able to deal with the rain, heat and extreme humidity to throw down events in the summer here in Florida. Get your clothes and shoes all wet and then sweat all day.Congratulations goes out to Freddy Tann from Orlando Florida with the Nollie Hard flip to win the money. Despite the weather the crowd stayed and supported the event, no one got hurt or thrown in jail. This was a great Go Skateboarding Day in Brevard County. Everyone signed the petition that was going around to get the skatepark in Viera. A positive event that community leaders will respect and support, turning people on to skateboarding.

The Crowd was big, Ryan Dodge was the MC

Sean Jeffries broke one board and threw down a Half cab down that 12ft Double Set.

London Times Article: Skateboarding Olympic status

From Times Online
June 8, 2007
Skateboarding set for Olympic status
Is skateboarding the most unlikely Olympic sport of all time? Or would British bulldog be more appropriate for London 2012? Let us know your thoughts below
Times Online and Agencies

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/london_2012/article1905672.ece
"Goofy", "noseslide" and "frontside ollie" could all become household terms if the International Olympic Committee have their way, after welcoming a proposal from cycling to include skateboarding as an Olympic sport at the London 2012 games.
Talks on the introduction were held between the IOC, who are keen to appeal to young people, and the International Cycling Union (UCI) this week.
Emmanuelle Moreau, the IOC media relations manager, said "The IOC are very keen on having a programme that appeals to the youth and we said we would welcome such a proposal. The first step is for the UCI to include skateboarding themselves and then make a formal proposal to the IOC. It is possible for skateboarding to be at the Games in London - in terms of timescale it would be feasible."
Skateboarding is likely to find a home in the velodrome in the Olympic Park and organisers say they will erect a number of 'half-pipes', in which skateboarders perform their stunts.
Olivier Quejuiner, UCI director of sport, confirmed cycling's interest, saying: "We are doing our best to introduce skateboarding for 2012.
"The venue could be wonderful. All we need now is the green light from the IOC. Technically, logistically and in terms of cost, it would not be a problem to stage the event in 2012."
The IOC's drive to interest the youth of the world has seen them introduce snowboarding to the Winter Olympics and BMX cycling to next year's summer Games in Beijing.
By becoming part of the cycling union, skateboarding would get a 'back-door' entry to the Games as a discipline rather than a new sport.
Rugby sevens and golf have both failed in their campaigns to be included and seven year's notice is needed for new Olympic sports. New disciplines only require three years' notice, however.
A London 2012 spokesman said any new sport or discipline was a matter for the IOC.
